I am Rajoshi, a high school student from Edison, New Jersey. I was fortunate to be involved in various social and community events in my middle and high school years. I got to meet many students. I also have been a tutor at my school and residential community. Some of them expressed that they found STEM challenging and that the competitive selection process discouraged them from pursuing it. As a STEM student myself, I believe STEM teaches critical reasoning skills which is a skill for life that encourages curiosity, enhances creativity, fosters independence, and reinforces problem-solving. Our country need many scientists and technologists to fulfil our economic and social potential. I couldn’t accept that a group of students couldn’t qualify for competitive education because of their lineage or the environment they were being grown up in. Thus, I wanted to build a platform where any student, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, could get support to learn and benchmark against their peers to make them better equipped for selective STEM programs. This is the story behind You Are Amazing, your STEM coach. This platform imparts STEM skills, motivates students towards a STEM career, encourage them to self-learn, and allow them to thrive in a healthy competitive environment.
